Authors, Artists and Agriculture in the Waveney Valley

THE FRIENDS OF ST MARY’S CHURCH EVENTS GROUP present
St Mary’s Church Bungay 10am-4pm
The exhibition will run from Saturday 22nd to Sunday 30th, entitled “Artists, Authors and Agriculture in the Waveney Valley” at St Mary’s Church Bungay 10am-4pm.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome
Drawing from writers like Henry Rider Haggard and Adrian Bell, who were also farmers, and local painters who depicted the agricultural scene, the exhibition will enlarge on the many diversifications brought about by economic and climate change. From mangols to biofuel, from farm shops to set-aside, from Suffolk punches to tractors, plus the many lost mills, maltings and fruit farms, the exhibition will show the agricultural progression from Victorian times to the present day.

Historic photos and farming implements
Paintings by local artists
A range of books by local authors with the emphasis on agriculture
In addition, there will be a preview evening at 7.30 pm on Friday 21st October where the speaker will be Gail Sprake former chair of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
